THINGS TO DO

In this outstanding area, you will never be short of things to do. Bird watching - Red Kites abound; walking and trekking with the old drover's roads to explore either on foot or by car; fishing; pony trekking and golf all available locally, as well as numerous historic buildings and National Trust properties.

Within easy reach are the glorious beaches of Cardigan Bay, Pembrokeshire and the Gower. Two National Parks are close by - The Brecon Beacons National Park to the east and the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park to the South West. To the north, the Cambrian Mountains stretch up to Mid Wales, with lots of secluded walks, Nature Reserves and the Elan Valley Dams. Close by are numerous castles, churches, abbeys, and railways - there is much to explore and discover in this beautiful unspoilt area of Wales.

A visit to both the National Botanic Gardens of Wales at Middleton Hall, Llanarthne and Aberglasney near Llandeilo 'A Garden Lost in Time' - seen in the BBC series - a truly magical place in the beautiful Tywi Valley - are musts.
